Monopol Original from Sweden

IMG_1007
1930 Unemployed engineer Charles B Darrow, of Germantown, developed a game that over the years has enthralled several millions of people. The number of Monopoly players has been steadily increasing since the 1930s, when the game began its conquest of the world with America as its starting point. No other game in our time has given so many different people joy and excitement.

But like any other great inventor, Charles B Darrow had many obstacles to overcome before he could make a living from the success of his game. Until 1934, he himself produced a few thousand games. However, his manufacturing capacity did not match the demand. His Monopoly was sought after.

He was indeed the lucky designer of a great game, but for that reason did not want to be a manufacturer. He offered his idea to the largest game manufacturer in the United States - and was terribly disappointed.

In its edition of Monopoly, Parker Brother discovered no fewer than 52 fundamental errors and flaws - and based on these, took the game out of its range. It turned out, however, despite the flaws that the game became famous and sought after, which it still is today. One of the faults was the long playing time, which hardly deters a Monopoly player. For distinct tournaments, however, a shortened game rule has been developed.

Charles Darrow was undeterred. All the games that he produced himself received a strong demand. The Monopoly wonder had been set in motion. By this time, the gentlemen in charge of Parker Brothers also understood the possibilities of their company through Monopoly. Charles Darrow got his license contract and Monopoly's victory streak had definitely begun. Charles Darrow became a millionaire.
